As the similar name suggests, Net-a-Sporter is Net-a-Porter’s new sister site, concentrating on active wear. Net-a-Porter president Alison Loehnis calls this active wear 'après sport' because “it is designed for those who want to look incredibly stylish after their workout." Net-a-Porter's research decided this direction when an ongoing desire for fitness related goods was noted.
This new site will launch on Thursday 9th June and will entail 37 brands across 11 sporting disciplines, from golf to surfing. Net-a-Sporter is an expansive offering for fitness goers not just because it cover lots of games but because it will stock a wide range of fitness-esque products including jewellery. As Loehnis told The Telegraph: "We already carry some great activewear brands…and we wanted to… create a dedicated category for sport". Net-a-Porter are also broadening the usage of their 'après sport' by ensuring all garments are both performance-based and stylish.
Instead of being concerned with day-to-night wear or office-to-after-work-drinks wear Net-a-Sporter are embracing the trend where woman are concentrating on yoga-to-coffee/green tea wear instead. Net-a-Sporter sees the world as an increasingly active place and is poised to turn this trend into a style.
