The FIFA World Cup has finally reached its peak; a peak patterned in an iconic LV design. Yes, the FIFA™ World Cup Trophy has arrived on the pitch of the Maracaña Stadium in Brazil protected by a specially commissioned Louis Vuitton trunk.
In keeping with tradition, the FIFA World Cup Trophy was returned to the pitch by a representative of the defending champions, Spain's Carles Puyol. And, keeping it a stylish affair, the Louis Vuitton ambassador and Brazilian-born top model Gisele Bündchen escorted the treasure trunk as well. Bündchen was dressed for the occasion in a Louis Vuitton outfit from the 2015 Cruise Collection.
Minutes before the Final match began the Trophy was carried onto the stadium pitch by Carles Puyo, placed on the official podium, and watched by 78,000 nervous eyes watching the game within the stadium.
Of the event Gisele Bündchen commented: “It was a great honor to represent my country and the people of Brazil ... It’s beautiful to see how sport has the power to bring the world together.” And the Louis Vuitton 'Maison' said that the event continued the spirit of its founder, Louis Vuitton, who invented a genuine “Art of travel” through luggage, bags and accessories.
In just a few days, the FIFA World Cup Trophy and its official Louis Vuitton trunk will leave Brazil for the home country of the new World Champions - Germany!
