Popular high-street retailer Missguided have made some misguided moves regarding their manufacture. After telling consumers they had switched to only using faux fur for animal cruelty reasons, Missguided’s products continued to be manufactured with real fur in China, where there have been issues with domestic cats and dogs being stolen and used for fur and meat.  After a complaint from a customer who believed the pom poms on her shoes to be real fur, not faux, Missguided took to Twitter to assure customers that the fur was actually faux.  However, the Human Society International investigated the shoes, and found that they were actually made from real fur.  A further investigation found other shoes and gloves from Missguided to be made from rabbit fur while they claimed to be fur free.  Bobble hats which were also labelled faux fur were found to be made from raccoon dog.
