AT HOME WITH GUCCI

Come September Gucci will officially be making homeware. Yep, you read that right, the industry-leading brand led by Michele Alessandro is releasing a selection of decor items which are an extension of Alessandro's Gucci Garden aesthetic.

Included in the range will be embroidered cushions, porcelain crockery, dining chairs, folding tables and scented candles. These will all be decorated in Alessandro's signature maximalist, vintage-inspired style, and will be adorned with tigers, bees and snakes - animals Alessandro has used across his clothing and accessory lines. The porcelain crockery will be made by Italian heritage brand Richard Ginori, which is owned by Gucci. Alessandro's appliquéd cushion designs have previously been seen at his Resort 2017 show at Westminster Abbey. There will also be wallpapers made from paper, silk and vinyl, so die-hard Alessandro fans can finally cover every surface with Gucci!

Alessandro has previously admitted that he almost left the fashion industry prior to his promotion to creative director at Gucci, in order to pursue his love of interior design. Expanding brand offerings from apparel to include homewares has worked well for notable brands such as Ralph Lauren and Versace. Prices will begin at approximately NZD 270.00 for a candle, the most expensive item in the range will be an elaborate folding screen.
