Technology is continuing to prove itself an invaluable tool to fashion retailers. the most recent integration from Apple as they team up with international luxury group Kering to produce a series of apps that will improve the in-store experience for customers.
Kering owns a host of the worlds most beloved luxury brands including Gucci, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent, and the new apps will be available throughout their stores.
Kering released a statement detailing their arrangement with Apple and giving consumers insight into what new experiences they could expect in store. “We are working on a suite of apps in partnership with Apple to be used by House staff in-store, the first of which is a store experience app that enables sales associates in-store to access stock levels in real time to provide their customers with a fully personalized service.” The inventory tracking app has been launched and is currently n use by around 6,500 employees daily throughout two-thirds of their owned and operated stores.
Kering began shifting their focus to digital and e-commerce services in 2017 with the appointment of new Chief Client and Digital Officer Gregory Boutte. The company is making much of their digital operations internal, ending their relationship with Yoox Net-a-Porter Group as of 2020.
The partnership between the international luxury group and Apple sees a further integration of technology into the fashion industry and is introducing a greater and more dependable service for customers of the fashion giant.
