CITY COUNCIL PARTNERSHIP

The Miromoda Runway Fashion Show has partnered with the Porirua City Council to hold the annual competition and runway in June. Pataka Art and Museum will play host to a range of designers, each of which will be judged by a panel of media and buying experts led by New Zealand Fashion Week founder, Dame Pieter Stewart.

"Porirua is very excited to be hosting this prestigious fashion show at Pataka and we are excited about seeing local models given the opportunity to strut the catwalk," said Nick Leggett, Mayor of Porirua City.

Confirmed designers include Harfords Menswear, Wanoa Four, Mania Moko, Adrienne Whitewood, Chido Dimairo, Bobby Campbell Luke, and Jason Park.

The competition will be held from 8am to 4pm on June 25, with the Miromoda IMFAB Fashion Runway show being held at 6.30pm. One signature garment from the competition winners and runners up will feature at the Miromoda Showcase at the 2016 New Zealand Fashion Week.

"We share the desire to advance the quality status of Maori fashion design, artistic and professional standards, and the promotion of fashion arts," said Leggett.

Tickets are on sale now through Eventfinda, with general admission costing $60.
