APLF has partnered with Arsutoria School to organise Design-a-bag 2018. Design-a-bag is the only event of its kind for designers and students that is open worldwide. The top prize includes a free trip to Hong Kong and an opportunity to win a four week bag design course with $1,000USD accommodation allowance at the prestigious Arsutoria School in Milan (valued at $4,200USD).
Established in 2007, Design-a-bag (DAB) has brought together a global design community during the Fashion Access trade fair. Showcasing innovative creations to the world, DAB also exchanges design concepts among talented individuals from various cultures and backgrounds.
The competition's theme is 'balance' and entries are evaluated via an online platform by a panel of professional judges from across the globe. The judges are looking for designs that are unique, innovative, trendy, functional, marketable, and highlight creative use of materials. "Overlapping and mix of trends will create a balance in future, in which new generations will identify," said 2018 DAB judge Stefano Migliavacca.
The organisers are looking forward to discovering the submissions of the multi-talented international designers who will participate, and are excited at the prospect of sharing the results with over 20,000 trade visitors.
