FemmeUndies and Bonds break down barriers

Intimates experts Bonds have teamed up with a niche Australian lingerie brand to create a new line of female underwear with a speciality purpose.

FemmeUndies, alongside Bonds, have created an underwear range which eliminates the need for disposable tampons, menstrual pads or liners. The underwear is washable, reusable and leakproof and can absorb over 25 tampons worth of both bladder and menstrual leaks.

The idea behind the innovative new range is to not only fight against the waste and cost of disposable female hygiene products but also to break down taboos and shame surrounding menstruation and bladder leakage.

According to research from Health Navigator, approximately 200,000 New Zealand women experience bladder leakage, but two-thirds of these women to no seek medical assistance due to shameful stigmas.

“We want our undies to not only offer leak-free peace of mind all day and all night during ‘that time of the month,’ but also support all women via our community, to ensure that all ladies who leak – menstrual or bladder – have a family that they can rely on; no judgement, no stigmas, no taboos.”

The range comes in a variety of styles including bikini, full brief and midi and scale from size 8 to 18.
