Ingrid Starnes’ new holding

Popular New Zealand brand Ingrid Starnes has revealed a new retail space which is in the heart of Auckland’s luxury shopping district.

At 78 Ponsonby Road sit’s the label’s new retail space, which was previously held by the contemporary womenswear brand Minnie Cooper.

“We love the double windows flanking the door and the sunny workroom upstairs overlooking Western Park,” said the brand’s founder, Ingrid Starnes. Starnes and her partner Simon Pound designed the retail fitout themselves, delving headfirst into this new project.

The space features bold wooden floors and a minimalist aesthetic. Elements which have been included were hand selected and make a strong statement, including the plush velvet curtains and soft foliage over the roof.

Ingrid Starnes’ new holding is multipurpose, as it serves as both a new and improved retail establishment but also hosts the brand’s creative processes.

“We sample collections and make small-run production from the workroom (upstairs) - it’s also where we make all our made to measure and bridal pieces, so it’s a fast-growing part of the brand offering,” shared Starnes.

“We’re really excited to be in the larger space having outgrown the workroom and store, and it’s a lovely complement to the Vulcan Lane store too.”

The new store hosts the label’s classic made-in-New Zealand leather bags, fragrances and their seasonal and capsule ranges, alongside custom bridal samples.
