Karen Walker’s eponymous brand is preparing to re-launch its Dove Hospice Winter Pop-Up after a particularly successful debut last year.
The event will be held from the 29th to the 31st of May, which will see Walker pair up with the Dove Hospice charity to help sell off their most stylish donations. Each of the items, which includes wool sweaters, vests and accessories for adults and children, have been previously worn and donated to the opshops. Walker is contributing her stylish flair as well as her unique platform to help re-sell these donated goods and raise money for the Dove Hospice.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Karen Walker and her team for the second year of this fantastic eco-fashion initiative,” said the executive director of Dove Hospice, Julie Sexton. “The donated hand knits symbolise the warmth, love and care that we aim to provide to patients and their families in their times of need.”
Each item is completely one of a kind and have a vintage flair, and will be sold off for between $80 and $20 each. Consumers can find the products at Walker’s Newmarket store as well as various Dove Hospice shops and their Trade Me store.
“With our own designs, we aim to produce beautifully crafted items that will be well worn and enjoyed for decades, special pieces that are circulated through many wardrobes before they’re repurposed for another use,” shared Walker. “There’s nothing quite like discovering pre-loved gems to give a new lease of life to while refreshing your wardrobe in the most sustainable way.”
