Karen Walker’s partnership with Dove Hospice has become even stronger as the group looks to take on a new charitable endeavour.
Throughout the month of April, all Karen Walker stores will be acting as clothing collection points for Dove Hospice Stores. The donated clothing will be arranged to be sold in one of the organisations six charity stores or their Trade Me store. Walker has encouraged the public to contribute, citing the value of recycled clothing.
“My team and I, and many of our customers are big vintage lovers, there’s nothing quite like finding unique pre-loved gems to give a new lease of life,” expressed the designer. “With our own designs, our aim is to produce beautifully crafted items that will be well-worn and enjoyed for decades, special pieces that are circulated for as long as possible before they’re repurposed for another use.”
This new endeavour follows a series of collaborations between the Karen Walker group and the Dove Hospice charity. Last winter the company held a pop-up Dove Hospice store, which proved to be immensely popular. The event will be returning again this winter, with all proceeds being donated to the Dove Hospice.
