Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia has announced a stellar addition to their lineup as they continue to celebrate excellence in innovation across the country.
Luxury fashion label AJE has been confirmed as the coveted ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ designer for the 2019 show, which is a highly prestigious role for the label. Under this title, the brand is given the opportunity to kick off the industry event with their resort collection, taking centre stage and capturing the attention of countless attendees.
AJE was founded by Edwina Forest and Adrian Norris, and in their 11 years of operations has become one of the countries most revered fashion brands. Forest released a statement on behalf of herself and her co-founder, detailing their enthusiasm to partner with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. “As designers, our driving force remains the same today as when we started AJE: to offer a platform for women to embrace their duality. At once raw and beautiful, tough and feminine, effortless and cool, our collections echo the co-existing tensions and complexities that unite us all,” she articulated. “This headlining position gives us the perfect platform to engage and inspire the clients we place at the heart of our brand.”
Norris added to Forest's statement by expressing his admiration for Mercedes-Benz, praising their shared sense of timelessness and refinement. “AJE and Mercedes-Benz share an inherent sophistication, and a desire to embody perfection in our craft,” he explained. “Our eye for design does not look to trends. We set ourselves apart by offering ageless style that sits outside the passing of time.
The ‘Mercedes-Benz Presents’ opening show is one of the events most prestigious and well-attended events, making AJE the focal point for this years celebration of fashion.
