NORDSTROM FAMILY TO LOOK FOR BUYOUT PARTNER

According to sources, the Nordstrom family is in talks with buyout firms to fund a potential bid to take the department store group private. The family group (which owns 31.2 percent of the iconic retailer) are allegedly looking for a buyout partner to help raise a big enough bid to win over the company's other shareholders. Sources suggest that the group are in current discussions about raising up to US$2 billion in equity for the bid and once secured, plans for a debt financing package will roll out. Nordstrom currently operates 354 department stores across 40 states in America.
