RALPH LAUREN FOR WIMBLEDON

THIS year’s Wimbledon ball boys and girls are getting a major uniform upgrade thanks to Ralph Lauren! The change is long overdue, with the last uniform update happening nearly 8 years ago in 2006, when the designer first became the official outfitters of the tournament. The designer’s partnership with the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club extends until 2015.

The new uniform features Wimbledon’s iconic green and purple splashed across Ralph Lauren’s signature navy polo shirt cut from breathable mesh cotton, emblazoned with the official Wimbledon logo and polo pony. The officials are also kitted out with a wristband, tennis shoes, socks and a baseball cap – with girls in preppy navy tennis skirts and boys in shorts. But the new uniforms aren’t just for the ball boys and girls – they’re available for purchase from selected stores and online. For a limited time at London’s New Bond Street store, you can even personalize the polo with your initials, for free!

“Wimbledon is a premier sporting event and we are honoured to be a part of such a long-standing tradition in the history of tennis,” said David Lauren, executive vice president of advertising, marketing and corporate communications.

This year’s Wimbledon tournament marks the event’s 125th anniversary.
