New York is following in Europe's footsteps by launching its first men's fashion week. The launch is taking place today and is a four-day showcase for mens US spring/summer 2016 collections. Big labels such as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Michael Kors and Polo Ralph Lauren will be featured in this show along with the up-and-coming labels such as Public School, Thom Browne, Michael Bastian and Rag and Bone. Over the four days, more than 50 shows will be held and the shows will be concentrated at the Skylight Clarkson studio in West Soho. The menswear market is begging for recognition after slipping into the shadows the past few years, so this will be something to look forward to and will hopefully encourage others to bring forward their aspirations for mens fashion.
Here's a preview of labels from day one.
