Tokyo Shiseido has won the Poster Award at the International Federation of Societies of Cosmetic Chemists, or better known as the IFSCC Congress, in Orlando. IFSCC has recognised that Tokyo Shiseido’s research paper titled :Discovery of novel skin aging mechanism: ‘dermal cavitation’” was considered the most meritorious poster presentation paper. In this paper Shiseido had discovered earlier this year that the cavitation of the dermal layer and that people with a more advanced cavitation of the dermal layer experience facial sagging to a greater extent. Despite this, the cause is still unknown. Shiseido is now applying their findings, to clarify the shrinkage of the sweat glands and how it plays a key role in cavitation of the dermal layer, to develop a new line of skincare products.
