In the fashion industry, supermodels are the stars of the show, constantly travelling the world and booking prestigious campaigns. These photogenic beauties are often siblings from the same genetically-blessed family who’ve also launched a promising career in modeling. From the Hadid girls to the Deleveigne daughters, check out these starlets making their mark.
Rosie & Florence Whiteley
Fresh out of high school, Rosie was signed by London agency Profile and landed a number of notable modeling jobs before being signed to lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret. Her run as a Victoria’s Secret Angel led her to pursue other opportunities, including launching her own lingerie line in 2012 and also landing a main role in the third Transformers movie (having met the director on the set of a VS commercial). Younger sister and university student, Florence, 21, has made her own mark in the industry after landing her first major campaign with British fashion label Jack Willis at the age of 19.
Gigi & Bella Hadid
Sisters Gigi and Bella Hadid are quickly on the rise in the fashion industry. Gigi, 19, signed with IMG Models in 2011 and the following year became the face of high fashion label Guess after modeling for the brand as a child. This year she has walked for the first time at New York Fashion Week, starred in Tom Ford’s latest eyewear campaign, appeared in Sport’s Illustrated 2014 Swimsuit Issue and has also featured in music videos. Meanwhile, Bella, 18, is close on her sister’s heels. Also signed to IMG, she featured in a spread in Elle France earlier this year and has also launched her own line of clothing, Robert Riley Jeans.
Lily & Ruby Aldridge
Coming from a family with a strong background in fashion, sisters Lily and Ruby Aldridge are no strangers to the modeling scene. Lily, 28, started her career at the age of 16 and has walked in Victoria’s Secret’s extravagant shows since 2010. Signed to IMG Worldwide, she has a strong list of editorials and campaigns to her name. Younger sister Ruby, 23, is signed to Next Model Management and has had a very successful start to her modeling career. She opened the Fall 2010 Marc by Marc Jacobs show in New York and only a few months later she was named the face of Marc by Marc Jacobs. Modeling is not a new career for this family. Half-sister Saffron, a former model, was named the face of Ralph Lauren for multiple years in the 1990’s.
Cara & Poppy Delevingne
Known for her trademark eyebrows and walking for Victoria’s Secret in 2012 and 2013, Cara is fast making a name for herself. At 22, she has campaigns for Chanel, Burberry and Melberry under her belt and picked up the title for ‘Model of the Year’ at the British Fashion Awards in 2012. Poppy, a Chanel ambassador, is the older of the two at 28. She’s worked with photographer Terry Richardson and caught the eye of designer Marc Jacobs, which lead to her appearing as the face of Louis Vuitton in Summer 2012. She has experience modeling for Free People, Alberta Ferretti and Burberry, like her sister.
