Tashi Levett

From being scouted seven years ago at age 15, Tashi Levett has been in love with the fashion industry. Since then, Levett’s career highlights have included being featured on the Italian Vogue website and wearing Zambesi at New Zealand China Fashion Culture Week. Growing up in a creative family, Levett draws inspiration from her mother who is a singer-songwriter and healer, her uncle who is a classical composer and her great-uncle who is renowned artist Michael Browne. Levett plans on beginning tertiary study sometime within the next five years - and wants to study something which will allow her to serve people and protect the environment. Future ambitions also include building a creative platform which will unite and empower other young women and promote self-determination for young creatives within the fashion industry. Still buzzing from the excitement of NZCFCW, Levett is looking forward to the energy of New Zealand Fashion Week and hopes to walk for the big names including Zambezi, Jimmy D and Stolen Girlfriends Club. Levett also reveres Te Kohu; “the fusion of cultural identity and streetwear created by this Māori designer is a breath of fresh air.”
