Announced in a press conference during Micam, the European Confederation of the Footwear Industry (CEC) announced the sixth edition of the World Footwear Congress will be held in Naples, Italy for two days in early April 2019. The theme of the conference will be Digitalisation for a Sustainable Footwear Industry, and will feature several presentations and discussion panels with specialists from across the globe. Prior to the conference, there will be factory visits on April 3rd.
Delegates from footwear associations, chambers, federations, businesses, trade fairs, technological centres, and consultants will have the opportunity to reflect on pressing issues impacting the industry. The conference will discuss digitalisation, sustainability, circular economy, changes impacting retail, and the connection to the final consumer.
Created by CEC over a decade ago, the World Footwear Congress is a platform to discuss constant challenges and opportunities that the footwear industry faces.
