Now on its 16th year running, the applications for the iD International Emerging Designer Awards 2020 has officially opened. Sponsored by Otago Polytechnic (OP), the global competition is the only one of its kind in Australasia. It is open to fashion designers who are studying or have graduated within the past five years.
Finalists will compete for prizes including cash, unique opportunities and high-profile internships. A runway show featuring a collection of three to five looks will be presented by the finalists to an all-star panel of judges in Dunedin on the 19th June 2020.
"Young designers [will] have the opportunity to network with their contemporaries from around the world," said Dr Margo Barton OP professor and fashion creative director at iD Dunedin. "[they will] receive feedback from established designers, launch their collections before an international audience, as well as attend fashion lectures and events including the Otago Polytechnic Fashion Symposium 2020."
