In Aotearoa the appearance of the Matariki cluster of stars is a promise of good things to come in the year ahead. Boh Runga’s new jewellery collection ‘Stargazers’ may be one of these good things as this collection is inspired by Matariki, that signals the Māori New Year.
A five-pointed star features throughout the Stargazers collection inspired by the allure of Matariki legends and mystique of the southern hemisphere’s winter night sky.
The Collection is available in sterling silver and nine-carat gold, the later combines metals to give a warm gold hue. “I really love combining precious metals in interesting and unexpected ways,” Boh says. “I've gained an appreciation for how much my fans love a touch of gold.”
Not one to shy away from experimenting with design aesthetics, Boh has included thread earrings in superfine sterling silver. Personally, Boh likes to mix and match these with her favourite studs.
