COOK ISLANDS FASHION SHOW SUCCESS

The Cook Islands Fashion Show - Aku Yanga - has had a successful second year in Auckland. The fashion show unites models, stylists, designers and makeup artists from across the Cook Islands in the high profile event. The Cook Islands has fifteen different islands, and 2017 was the first year which included all fifteen islands. Aku Yanga is voluntary, with the aim of raising creatives profiles, while celebrating the Islands' unique cultural heritage. Although Aku Yanga is separate from Pacific Fashion Fusion, the organisers hope that Aku Yanga might be a stepping stone for young Pacific designers into the larger Pacific Fashion Fusion show.
