E-COMMERCE GROWING

The Bank of New Zealand has released its June 2016 online retail sales statistics which show a total increase of online sales by 10 percent. Locally, online clothing purchases have increased by 14 percent compared to last year, while offshore purchases continue to remain strong, with computer and clothing stores making up two-thirds of the nine percent increase.

Immediately following the ‘Brexit’ referendum, there was dramatic 47 percent increase in New Zealand online spending at UK sites due to weakened British pound.
