Inspired by the transformative journey of exotic moths that resemble a butterfly's delicate beauty, Camilla and Marc has launched its latest Resort'24 collection, Metamorphosis.
By evolving gracefully, the collection draws parallels between the natural metamorphosis and evolution of the Camilla and Marc woman.
The collection nods to sensuality with subtle vintage-inspired lingerie details, revealing bra straps, hooks and elastics to honour the female form. In contrast, the masculine shapes bring natural tension, balanced with texture and soft forms.
A new tailoring silhouette is introduced with relaxed shoulders, boxy forms, shorter jackets, and coat lapels for a relaxed yet sharp shape.
The Alabaster dress and top have been intricately hand-crocheted and beaded to imitate the luminescence of exotic mothwings as delicate sheer gold lace wraps and twists around the body.
The Athalia story is hand-designed in-house, with a velvet coating to mirror the fur texture of moth wings. Each piece highlights the wearer's individuality and evolution.
The colour palette includes tones of black, chocolate and slate, reminiscent of night visions, and lighter watercolours and luminescent hues of red, gold and canary yellow that represent freedom.
"Metamorphosis represents a romantic and beautiful journey that traces an evolution in life. Moths are sensual and mysterious creatures, much like women, embarking on a voyage of transformation to become the best version of themselves, and in the process, beauty and intricacies are uncovered," said Camilla Freeman-Topper, Creative Director.
"I was fascinated to discover the correlation between the power of the moth's antennae as their sole sensory organ to detect life and danger and the female intuition. We as women are lucky to possess this intuitive trait, which we must lean into and embrace."
