Following a successful debut at New Zealand Fashion Week in 2015, designer Bobby Campbell-Luke is already growing his brand, bringing on fellow AUT graduate and friend Jason Park.
“Jason spent his time at AUT focusing on menswear, which is an element I wanted to include in the collection so it seemed like a perfect opportunity to start working together,” said Campbell-Luke.
While Park brings to the table an excellent understanding of menswear and tailoring, his Korean background paired with Campbell-Luke’s Maori heritage have produced a collection which Campbell-Luke describes as the binding of two cultural identities.
“We looked at different time periods of Korea and New Zealand, focussing on the different iconography of each country,” said Campbell-Luke.
Having already developed a strong working relationship during their four years together at university, Campbell-Luke said Park brings to the table a much needed fresh attitude and aesthetic to the brand.
The pair will showcase the collection during the second scheduled New Generation Show at New Zealand Fashion Week this year.
