Five months after closing his label, Scottish designer Jonathan Saunders has joined Diane Von Furstenberg as the chief creative office. Saunders will be responsible for the overall creative direction of the brand, reporting to chief executive Paolo Riva.

“Jonathan's extraordinary passion for colours and prints, his effortless designs, and his desire to make women feel beautiful make him the perfect creative force to lead DVF into the future," said Diane von Furstenberg, founder.

The DVF brand has had various highs and lows since its rise to fame in the 70s. However, it has built itself up now to generate an estimated USD$500 million in annual revenue.

"For the past year, I have rebuilt our senior leadership around a new strategy. Now is the right time to bring in a creative force to help execute this vision and provide strong creative direction," said Riva.
