KATE SYLVESTER’S AUTUMN WINTER 2016 COLLECTION

Kate Sylvester’s Autumn Winter 2016 collection takes inspiration from Picasso’s painterly portrail of the muse, and embodies signature Kate silhouettes with a cubist eccentricity. Contrasting an array of colours, fabrics and textures, the collection features clashing prints and sharp tailoring. A bold floral jacquard is layered over paisley embroidery and billows in full skirts and dresses. Dashes of coral, purple and berry leap out of a palette of rich neutrals. The face of the muse is the key element, drawn by Wayne Conway and cast into a feature button on strong, tailored pieces. Her direct gaze is powerful in its simplicity, the face that pays homage to the women who inspire from behind the canvas. The collection is complimented with an array of striking cubist jewellery curated by stylist Paris Mitchell. Structured skinny suiting along with slouchy tweed take a cue from her menswear pieces.
