New Zealand Fashion Week starts on August 28th and has announced its much anticipated designer line-up for this year's event. The 86 brands will be scattered across the trade week and the consumer-focused weekend. The 86 is an equal mix of industry heavyweights and emerging labels.
Reworking NZFW this year, the event will have a trade-focused space called The Cube that allows brands to create installations to showcase their collections as an alternative to a traditional runway show. A showroom will also be available for designers to book meetings with prospective buyers and media throughout the week and present their collections.
“After many insightful conversations with designers since the last event, we have made strong inroads into the US market again, a market our local designers had shied away from for the past few years. While we always pride ourselves on the calibre of our delegates, this year we are especially proud of the list we have put together and that has been reflected in the positive response from the local fashion industry,” said Dame Pieter Stewart, NZFW's strategic director and founder.
