CHANEL’S BEACH RUNWAY

For Chanel's spring 2019 show, Karl Lagerfeld created a Chanel By The Sea beach runway for the brand at Paris’s Grand Palais – featuring a sandy and peaceful beach backdrop complete with an ocean and lifeguard. The Chanel beach even included a tiki hut and miniature boardwalk. Models showcased the latest fashion concepts in true beach style, walking the sandy runway barefoot, shoes in hand.

The collection was beach-themed with vacation-ready swimsuits, straw hats, cardigans, and belts made from the Chanel logo. Among the stunning sundresses and bathing suits, classic Chanel signatures also featured in the collection, such as tweed and suited outfits that were made for a relaxed and summery setting while still looking chic and professional.

Spandex looks surprised the audience as Chanel showcased new bike shorts and leggings, beautifully styled with tweed blazers and sweater sets to enhance the overall look. In an array of pinks, blues and black and white classics, bags and sandals were introduced as accessories with some models carrying two handbags at a time on the runway.

Celebrities including Laura Smet, Poppy Delevigne and Pamela Anderson – the Baywatch queen, attended the event and enjoyed posing for photos on the faux sun set.
