Jacinda Ardern has confirmed that as announced last Friday, regions south of Auckland will be moving down to Alert Level 3 at midnight tomorrow night. This Alert Level will remain in place for at least a week.
Waste water testing results in Northland due Tuesday, and more testing in the regions will be available in that timeframe. Providing these tests come back negative, Northland will move down to Alert Level 3 at midnight on Thursday.
Auckland will remain at Alert Level 4 for at least another two weeks.
“To move Auckland down a level we need to be confident we don't have Delta in the community,” Ardern said.
“We are making progress, and the sacrifice being made is incredibly important.”
