The past two weeks have seen the launch of Deadly Ponies’ newest Winter 2023 collection, ‘Oh! So Sweet’ which features rich plum, candy apple and lilypad colourways.
Francis Bacon has been recognised as one of the most influential artists of the twentieth century, and his converted rugs have been described as the ‘finest modernist carpets in existence’. His works have become an unexpected inspiration throughout this latest Deadly Ponies collection.
These Bacon-inspired pieces bring an unexpected solace, diving deeper into the renowned artist’s work and experimenting with a rich and textural pallet.
‘I liked the idea of drawing inspiration from these colourful, textured rugs, experimenting with vibrant hues and unusual tactile materials,” explained Liam Bowden, Creative Director for Deadly Ponies.’
The new season colourway, plum, is available in both suede and pebble grain leather, while the sell-out silhouette Mr Maximise returns in the shade lilypad. As a seasonal surprise, a range of small leather goods in a deep candy apple red has been created.
“Sometimes it is better to simply allow the material to shine, and our feathery soft-suede achieves just that; it brings a natural movement to every product it touches,” Bowden said.
