Inspired by the Midwest and its way of life is Arielle Raycene’s fashion brand, smallTown. Growing up in the open fields while also having travelled to Los Angeles for a career in modelling made a significant impact on young Raycene’s life.
“This prompted me to draw city skylines with a cow in the forefront. I don’t know why I was so drawn to the paradox and how it would come out, but it did in the shape of this clothing line.”
With its comfortable and Western street style, smallTown embraces a sense of nostalgia and authenticity.
Since a significant part of America comprises small towns, many people living in the cities can relate to the nostalgic small-town feeling, which Raycene wishes to showcase through her stylish ideas.
Some of the ideas could also come from fellow small-towners, with whom Raycene would love to have an opportunity to collaborate in order to create a feeling, a memory, or a livable throwback.
She wants fellow small-towners to indulge in their past and design something that speaks to them and the town they came from.
“I want smallTown barn parties in skyscrapers and mansions and the traditional keg parties. For me, smallTown is all about having fun with that juxtaposition that I love so much.”
Part of the proceeds from smallTown goes to nonprofits focusing on small towns, animals, and the environment, as well as the Epilepsy Foundation of America in support of Raycene’s sister, who had her first seizure at fourteen, and others like her.
Raycene has had a diverse career spanning acting and modelling, which allowed her to showcase her creativity in various ways and build a brand.
Her latest dive has been into the tech industry, where she has taken building her brand to another level through a 3D holographic application, RealAF, enjoying the process of directing behind the camera.
