FEDERAL COURT FOR COTTON ON

Australian retailer Cotton On has been sued by American designer Elektra Printz Gorski for allegedly ripping off her trademarked brand Lettuce Turnip The Beet. The designer cited indistinguishable similarities between the print used by Cotton On and her logo.

The slogan appeared across various Cotton On products and Typo home goods, sold in New Zealand and Australia. Gorski said she is determined to take her case to the Federal Court.

Cotton On has previously been sued for copyright infringement, with designer Elwood successfully winning her lawsuit against the brand in 2008.
