Lululemon Stepping into Footwear

Lululemon Athletica has recently announced its first-ever footwear collection that is launching today in North America, Mainland China and the United Kingdom.

CEO of Lululemon Calvin McDonald said footwear was the next natural step for the company to expand and apply its long history of innovation as a brand.

“We are entering the footwear category the same way we built our apparel business – with products designed to solve unmet needs, made for women first.”

"We intentionally started with women because we saw an opportunity to solve for the fact that, more often than not, performance shoes are designed for men and then adapted for women," Sun Choe, Lululemon's chief product officer, said in a statement. "That didn't sit well with us."

The sneaker, priced at $148, is made with foam cushion technology and comes in 10 different colours.

We are hoping that these sneakers will be hitting NZ shores very soon!
