Fast fashion giant Shein has launched its first permanent store and event space in Tokyo, Japan. The opening follows the retailer’s successful pop-up store in Osaka.
Situated in the vibrant fashion precinct of Harajuku, the new two-storey space displays items and styles catered to the Japanese market. Fitting rooms and an Instagrammable photo booth are also available for shoppers.
No products are available for customers to purchase on the spot. Instead, shoppers can scan the QR code of items they wish to buy using the Shein app, which will then organise the products to be delivered to their home or office.
The opening of its first brick and mortar store marks the company’s efforts to bolster its brand with a physical presence.
In April 2022, Shein was valued at $100 billion. As of 2022, it is the largest fashion retailer in the world.
