You can now get your hands on wearable art thanks to a new collaboration between Specsavers and Dick Frizzell. Featuring the artist's iconic wood grain piece, each pair of frames sold from the collaboration donates $25 to The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ in an effort to end avoidable blindness in the Pacific.
“Years ago, I was challenged to hand paint a repeating pattern on a set of Crown Lynn dinnerware and, in desperation, I decided to make the china look like wood. Now, thirty-odd years later, it’s fantastic to think that inspiration is helping to raise funds for such an important cause," added Frizzell. “Eye care is hugely important anywhere but the added challenges of geography and access to technology call for that much more effort. With The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ you can really see where the money goes to support those in need in the Pacific.”
The Fred Hollows Foundation has a Mobile Eye Clinic which is a state-of-the-art facility that travels to the most remote parts of Fiji to provide sight-saving services for those in need.
