A new five-part documentary series is currently seeking backers on the crowdfunding platform, Kickstarter. Australian Entrepreneurs - NYC focusses on a group of Australian business people who embody the entrepreneurial spirit and have built a life for themselves in America's New York City.
One of the ten entrepreneurs of the series will be Samantha Wills, who at 21-years-old started her self-titled accessories line at the Bondi Beach Markets. Having since moved to New York, Wills has opened offices in Sydney, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Paris, and New York, garnering the attention of celebrities including Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Rihanna.

"It's a big world out there, and sometimes, Australia can feel very far away. I grew up in a small town on the mid-north coast of New South Wales, even Sydney felt so far away to me growing up. I think spotlighting people who have taken the leap goes a long way to showing people who may be thinking about it, that anything is possible if you really want it," said Wills.
The series, developed and directed by Sam and Lachlan Fletcher, has a funding goal of AU$150,000, with the funding period ending on July 12.
Some of the incentives for backing the project include one-on-one time with some of the entrepreneurs, alongside exclusive access to behind-the-scenes footage and invitations to different premiers, either in Brisbane or New York.
"Each story will show a personal journey told by the entrepreneur in a candid and honest way. We want to understand what makes them tick and share with you how they achieved what they have," said Fletcher.
