3000 Jumpers to be Gifted by End of Winter

Standard Issue's partnership with Middlemore Foundation through their Jumper for Jumper initiative looks to make a huge impact again.

The partnership has provided warmth to local communities over the past three years. Two thousand jumpers have been knitted and gifted so far, but more work is needed to keep as many Kiwi kids warm and well through the winter months ahead.

Jumper for Jumper 2023 holds a firm goal, to knit 3000 jumpers by the end of this winter.

1 in 10 Kiwi kids lives through winter without access to basic needs like sufficient food, a good bed, or warm clothing. Winter is challenging for our most vulnerable families and their children living in impoverished conditions.

Standard Issue will knit and gift a jumper for every single jumper purchased online or in-store for a child in need this winter. Customers can also purchase a child's jumper separately for $30. This also results in a jumper being donated on customers' behalf, helping provide an extra layer of warmth this winter.

Access to everyday necessities and a means to keep warm allows Kiwi kids to live connected to their whanau as well as helping to combat the cold and preventable illnesses.

Middlemore Foundation works closely on-ground with local communities. Their physical presence during Jumper for Jumper provides families with support, beyond warmth, during these harsh winter months. The result of this on-ground approach enables jumpers to be correctly distributed to those most in need.

Gifted jumpers are crafted in Standard Issue's Auckland workroom by their diverse team of skilled craftspeople, with zero-waste, warmth, and longevity in mind. Knitting of their donated jumpers can also be viewed on an industrial knitting machine in Standard Issue's flagship Osborne Lane, Newmarket store.

Jumper for Jumper draws from Standard Issue's resources and team of talented makers, understanding that small changes can have a powerful impact to bring about small but powerful changes.

Together with the community's support, they are on a mission to warm up winter for our most vulnerable children.
