A well-loved New Zealand accessories brand has launched their new Autumn 2020 collection inspired by the iconic Chateau Marmont hotel. With old Hollywood glamour and historical meaning, this building has been a talking point globally due to their previous long term and short term residences of celebrities. Since 1931, this building has been opened to the public as a hotel.
Yu Mei's MARMONT collection is inherently glamorous, familiar yet fresh. Classic Yu Mei styles are reinvented with new textures, shapes and colours. We see the much anticipated 'croc' pattern in a green hue that parallels with the checkerboard grass of the Chateau's terrace.
This collection sees three new styles. Firstly we see the Suki clutch with an embossed croc finish, the perfect daytime to evening bag. Secondly, we have the Milly bag, which is a suede mini-tote with an extra-long zip tab, handy and functional. Lastly, we have the Claudia tote, which is an oversized version of the Milly bag, making it the perfect travel companion.
These new styles evolve with the Yu Mei brand and the Yu Mei woman. Focusing on refined aesthetics and a steer towards utilitarian design, the Yu Mei woman is now a broader archetype - mothers, executives, go-getters, CEOs.
