Merchant 1948 has launched its new Goodsole Beach Shorts, designed for summer days.

With work taking founder Shane Anselmi through Italy most summers, his trips are often filled with long days, fast schedules and constant movement.

Yet it’s the moments by the water, particularly along the Mediterranean, that have always stood out. The light, the food, the history and the unmistakable blue have a way of slowing everything down.

It was there that Anselmi first noticed Vilebrequin, a French brand born in Saint-Tropez, featuring bold colours, playful prints, and a holiday feeling, even on the busiest days.

On a recent buying trip, that inspiration evolved into something new. Merchant 1948 partnered with a Milan-raised maker and an Italian design team to create a collection that balances craftsmanship with practicality.

The result is a thoughtfully designed short featuring quick-dry stretch fabric, a soft mesh lining, three functional pockets, a metal-tipped drawcord and a matching travel pouch for essentials.

Built for real life, the Goodsole Beach Shorts have been designed for long days at the beach, comfort on the move and durability families can rely on. They capture the spirit of European summer style, without the luxury price tag.

The collection has launched as the Goodsole Côte d’Azur Collection, a nod to the Riviera, colour and summer done well.

Merchant 1948 also introduced Mini & Me, matching father-and-son styles available in boys’ sizes 2 to 8, made for family moments that last long after the season ends.
