Charlotte Tilbury to be Recognised at The Fashion Awards 2023

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that Founder, Chairman, and Chief Creative Officer of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, Charlotte Tilbury MBE, will receive a Special Recognition Award for her contribution to the fashion industry.

The award will be presented at The Fashion Awards 2023 presented by Pandora, in early December at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The Fashion Awards are the primary fundraiser for the BFC Foundation and celebrate the role of fashion at the intersection of culture and entertainment. The awards spotlight creative talent. Tilbury will be awarded for her visionary and innovative approach to beauty, resulting in global trends that have reshaped the industry.

“We are thrilled to honour Charlotte Tilbury MBE with a Special Recognition Award for her incredible contribution to fashion and beauty,” said Caroline Rush, Chief Executive, British Fashion Council.

The Special Recognition Award honours outstanding contributions to the fashion industry. The award celebrates Tilbury's illustrious career as a beauty entrepreneur and makeup artist, her immense contributions to the beauty campaigns of fashion's key players, and her ground-breaking global beauty company.

Tilbury has worked on over 180 magazine covers and 600 editorial and advertising campaigns, creating iconic runway looks for fashion shows all over the world, working with over 100 designers and up to 40 shows a season.

"It is such a huge honour to receive a Special Recognition Award for contributions to fashion, from the British Fashion Council,” said Tilbury.

“Britain is a trailblazer in fashion, so inspiring, innovative, and dynamic. I am so grateful to have worked with some of the greatest creative geniuses in the fashion world, from photographers to designers, editors, stylists, icons, and models to create pure beauty magic.”

In 2013, Tilbury launched her eponymous beauty brand, decoding her artistry expertise into innovative makeup and skincare products. Charlotte Tilbury Beauty now operates in 54 markets globally and has won over 700 awards. In 2018, Tilbury was awarded an MBE by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for services to the beauty and cosmetics industry.

Driven by purpose, Tilbury’s goal in setting up the brand was to empower people to feel their most confident. Since 2016, Tilbury has been an ambassador for Women for Women International to help support the rehabilitation of marginalized and vulnerable women in areas of conflict across the globe.

Tilbury is also a Partner of the Clooney Foundation for Justice, and her 2023 holiday collection was launched in partnership with the Rocket Fund powered by the Elton John AIDS Foundation, to support its mission to end AIDS forever.
