CHRISTCHURCH’S MERIVALE MALL GETS AN UPGRADE

Central Christchurch’s Merivale Mall is set to preserve its reputation for style with a $10 million development that will upgrade amenities, common spaces and lighting, and see storefronts and interiors given fresh and modern refits. The 18-month development and refurbishment, which began in May 2017, is set to transform Merivale Mall.

Centre Manager, Nicola Dolan is very excited to share the news with her loyal customers and retailers. “We have been a hub of the Merivale community and will remain close to its roots in both design and spirit – just refreshed, tempting and even more inviting. The centre is evolving to meet a more sophisticated consumer demand and introduce the kinds of trends we’ve started to observe in retail overseas. At a local level, these changes are coming at the perfect time, as Christchurch continues to transform, and the population grows in the surrounding suburbs,” said Dolan

The mall, situated in the heart of Merivale Village, is known for the relaxed elegance of its 40-plus stores, which include designer boutiques, lifestyle outlets and chic restaurants and bars. The centre’s major tenant is FreshChoice, although not new to the centre, it will be undergoing a dramatic refurbishment, sporting a brand-new look.

“We are excited to be bringing a modern new look to Merivale Mall with some fantastic new features for our community. We want to take our customers on an improved shopping journey, from the farmer’s market experience to an extensive deli-kitchen offer, gourmet foods with a focus on local and artisan and a contemporary everyday florist,” added FreshChoice’s Owner Craig Grant.
