A number of New Zealand fashion artists and jewellery designers will showcase their work at the upcoming exhibition,"Unhinged: Opening the Doors to the Dowse Collection."
Held at the Dowse Art Museum in Lower Hutt, this exhibition features over 1000 items from the Dowse Art collection and ten "hero" items, three of which are created by fashion and jewellery designers.
Fashion artist, Victoria McIntosh's "My Handbag, My Choice" is one of the features. Constructed using vintage underwear, found clasp, freshwater cultured pearls, crochet hooks and knitting needles, McIntosh's creation was created in support of abortion reform in New Zealand.

Jewellers, Pauline Bern and Joanna Campbell, also have their works featured in the exhibition. Bern's piece, Scrubber (2002), and Campbell's Rosette (2002), were awarded the Dowse Foundation Gold Award.

The exhibition opens its doors to the public on March 25 and closes on August 13.
