Pure London has announced retail extraordinaire George Davies as a keynote speaker heading the content programme on Sunday 16 July with a session aptly titled In Conversation with George Davies.
Davies career in retail spans over more than four decades and he is widely acknowledged as one of the most successful fashion innovators and designers of his time. Davies is renowned for revolutionising the British high-street by creating three of the UK’s most successful fashion businesses, NEXT, George at Asda and PER UNA at M&S. Davies transformed the retail landscape and paved the way for many brands to flourish.
Davies will be joined on the Pure London catwalk by renowned journalist and author Eric Musgrave, formerly Editorial Director for Drapers, Founder of FHM and CEO of The UK Fashion & Textile Association. Davies and Musgrave have a long-standing friendship within the fashion industry, making Musgrave the perfect partner to conduct the exclusive interview.
As a Pure London exhibitor, Davies will also be showcasing the latest collection from his newest fashion brand GWD. The feminine collection includes Davies’ signature mix of smart-casual attire and occasion wear. The collection includes fine embellishments, intricate lace designs and beautiful trims paired with bold prints and vibrant colours.
“We are incredibly excited to welcome such an icon of the retail industry to Pure London. Davies' keynote will not only look back on his hugely successful career and the impact he has had on the UK fashion market but also address the future of fashion and the challenges facing brands and retailers today,” said Gloria Sandrucci, Event Director at Pure London.
