Wendy Quach wanted to change how people approach secondhand shopping while also promoting a more sustainable approach to fashion. Because of that, she created online thrift store & Again.
“I created & Again to make the process of buying and selling pre-loved clothing simpler and more enjoyable while also having a more positive impact on the environment,” Quach said.
Being of Chinese descent, Quach mentioned that new clothing is often associated with high status and success. However, she aims to challenge this mindset and show people that by buying pre-loved clothing, everybody has the chance to express themselves regardless of their status.
“I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to express their individuality through fashion, regardless of their background or financial situation.”
Following the launch of & Again, there has been an overwhelmingly positive response from customers all over New Zealand. Since circular fashion is a core focus for this company, fashion has been given a chance for a new lease of life and to be loved by many, time and time again!
As the solo founder, Quach takes on many roles on a daily basis. While her responsibilities are endless, she finds excitement and motivation in every day.
& Again even has plans to evolve beyond specialised women's clothing and introduce a wider range of products, which would include infant clothing, maternity wear and a more extended plus-size range to create a truly diverse marketplace.
Her vision for the future is to witness a significant shift in the fashion industry towards a modern and sustainable thrifting culture. While also changing the way women approach their shopping habits with her ultimate goal to make & Again accessible for everyone across New Zealand.
“We believe everyone deserves access to stylish and sustainable fashion options, and we are committed to making that a reality.”
