MetalShoe FabLab Network Project Will Host its Final Session

After almost two years of activities, the MetalShoe FabLab Network project is hosting its final session. On 14 December at the Porto Palácio Congress Hotel, results from the project and winning companies will be presented. NOTRE 2020 Management authority - Scientific and Technological Research Support Unit will attend, presenting the MetalShoe FabLab Innovation Award.

The project trained and supported companies in the footwear, metallurgical and metalworking industries. In promoting creativity and strengthening business capacities, the project tackled challenges such as technological advances and changes in the market.

While the project is ending, the purpose continues with knowledge transferred to companies within the industry and ongoing support from FabLab groups. This includes 3D printing, laser cutting, engraving, CNC milling, IOT solutions, collaborative robotics, and CAD software.

3:10 pm – The relevance of FabLabs in technology transfer and bringing companies closer together - Celeste Varum, CEO Matosinhos Future Hub, GALP

3:30 pm – Future perspectives of FabLab CATIM and FabLab CTCP - CTCP and CATIM

3:50 pm – Coffee break

4:20 pm – Presentation of Applications for the MetalShoe Award; Presentation of the winning company and delivery of the MetalShoe FabLab Innovation Award

4:50 pm – Closing, Maria José Pereira, NORTE 2020 - Support Unit for Scientific and Technological Research

Participation is free, though registration is required.
