Mi Piaci’s latest AW22 collection ‘Together’ is inspired by the heroine in all of us, offering electrifying colour, joyful silhouettes and amplifying the divine in every detail.
In the new ‘Together’ collection, Mi Piaci’s Head of Design, Louise Anselmi wanted to explore ideas of connection. Women have a fundamental need for connection which is reflected in how we communicate as women, and how we work. Over the past two years, how this connection is defined has changed in reaction to Covid lockdowns, and ‘Together’ is a powerful but simple statement with a multitude of layers of meaning.
The pandemic has changed the style of the products in demand, with current trends a clear reaction to this. Comfort combined with statement is key, as bold wearable styles reflect the customers' want and need for inspiration.
“Bold wearable styles are a statement of empowerment in unpredictable times,” Anselmi said.
Anselmi noted customers are loving revived trends with a return to square toes and long boots as a nostalgic reference to what we remember as simpler times.
“Both are a nod to the seventies and this season’s fashion is geared to compliment this trend. Long boots in particular will continue to trend into AW23.”
The latest collection nods to Mi Piaci’s most loved boot styles of Winter 21 and reaches to bolder, chunkier outsoles and profiles.
Despite the urge for comfort sought through the pandemic, customers are not necessarily being inspired by the practical. Early adopters of trends jump into colours and materials early in the season, having researched trends. This customer knows what she wants and, at Mi Piaci, Anselmi looks to provide inspiring styling as well as comfort in those styles.
“We notice customers embracing individuality, they are motivated to buy pieces they know are only produced in very small quantities, they want to stand out in the crowd, not blend, and their shoes need to be part of that style statement.”
Mi Piaci is well known for their quietly confident, classic footwear, becoming essential in the formation of an elevated wardrobe.
