New Ponsonby Pop-Up Brings Together Local & Sustainable Businesses

Local fashion brands, Alyssa Lloyd design and Velvet Heartbeat, are bringing together a range of local and sustainable businesses for a two week concept store pop-up from 5 - 18 July at Ponsonby Central.

Aptly named ‘this is nice’, the store will curate a selection of female-led creative businesses from clothing, ceramics and homewares, to accessories, skincare and jewellery. All brands have been handpicked based on their shared values of sustainability, conscious design, exacting quality and female empowerment.

Among some of the brands involved in the concept store, Agnes & Me creates perfectly- formulated, indulgent and uncomplicated skincare, Statements by Brooke offer unique handmade polymer clay statement earrings, and Ethically So focuses on eco minimalism offering low waste, sustainable home and beauty products. Their products will display alongside NZ-made sustainable fashion from Alyssa Lloyd design and plant-based leather accessories from Velvet Heartbeat, who are hosting the store.

“We’re really excited to bring together this group of local NZ businesses," said fashion designer Chloe Win, Alyssa Lloyd.

Together we represent an emerging category of creative female entrepreneurs. We can’t wait to offer customers the opportunity to discover these local women-led businesses, and bring attention to the hard work that goes into creating products in New Zealand.

“We see ‘this is nice’ as an opportunity to introduce customers to some amazing values-driven brands who are literally ‘doing nice’ in the world of business, but also happen to offer and make really lovely things we think anyone would be happy to have in their home,” said Suzie Eggleton, Velvet Heartbeat.

The ‘this is nice’ concept store will be running from 5 - 18 July, in Shop 4D at Ponsonby Central.
