Oversized 90s Styles and Attitudes are Back with Levi’s SilverTab Summer 2022

Patented in 1936, the Levi’s tab is today one of the most iconic parts of a pair of Levi’s jeans. From the Levi’s Orange Tab counterculture look of the 1960s and ‘70s, to the classic red ribbon of the Levi’s 501s and even the 1970s Fresh Produce collection’s tab featuring a tiny carrot - the Levi’s tab differentiates the brand from the rest, epitomising classic American style and effortless cool.

In the ‘90s, Levi’s® SilverTab™ became the go-to collection thanks to its baggy styles inspired by hip-hop and the skateboarding scene. And now, after a brief reboot in 2018 and a Levi’s SecondHand capsule in 2020, SilverTab is officially back for Summer 2022!

Loose and baggy, cinched and low, washed and faded, with maybe a frayed hem or two - it’s hard to imagine anything more uniquely ‘90s than that!

Reviving the styles and fits of the original ‘90s SilverTab collection, the new ‘22 collection brings back the quintessential ‘90s attitude too. Featuring the original silver-coloured tab on the pocket of the denim and the SilverTab backpatch, the collection includes a range of oversized jeans and shorts, as well as oversized shirts for a sense of ‘90s nostalgia.

Part of the popularity of the original Levi’s SilverTab line was the fact that few mainstream brands offered the loose, baggy silhouettes at the time. It was exactly the sort of oversized look that ‘90s skaters and hip-hop artists were looking for and gave the line just the sort of cultural cache that defined the style of the era.

The new 2022 collection recreates the same loose, baggy fits, but with a modern feel. Key men’s fits include:

SilverTab Loose Jean

SilverTab Loose Short

Both styles feature the classic silver-coloured tab on the back pocket as well as the iconic backpatch with SilverTab logo over the Levi’s Two Horse pull.

All in all it’s the perfect collection to bring a bit of ‘90s nostalgia to some modern day oversized style.
