Sass & Bide’s New Creative Director

Sass & Bide's New Creative Director

Last week we broke the news that the Founders and Creative Directors of Sass & Bide, Heidi Middleton and Sarah-Jane Clarke, were walking away from their roles after 15 years. We can now confirm that Anthony Cuthbertson will be taking on their role as Creative Director.

Cuthbertson has already a lot of design experience under his tribal Sass & Bide feathered belt. He has been a former design consultant for Victoria Beckham and Mulberry and has worked for Ralph Lauren, Daks, Max Mara, Joseph and some. Cuthbertson will lead the creative team with Art Director Bonnie O'Hare, who himself has worked for Tommy Hilfiger, Calibre, Hugo Boss and Bardot.

In 2012 Myer bought 65 percent of Sass & Bide (for $42.5m)and took full ownership in September 2013. Founders Clarke and Middleton have steadily reduced their roles in the company and have now left their brand in the capable hands of Cuthbertson and O'Hare.

With Myer recently taking on even more new brands, such as Charlie Brown and Howard Showers, many are watching their department space to see the affect of this brand portfolio diversification. No doubt, the world will keep keen watch on Sass & Bide's coming collections to see where Cuthbertson will take the brand next.
